My Story

Meet Communications Professor & Color Code Coach Dr. Lina Rawlings

Dr. Lina Rawlings, affectionately known as "Dr. R" by her students, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Peak Speak Communication Consulting. With a Ph.D. in Communication, a master's in business administration, and a bachelor's degree in communication/organizational management from the University of Colorado, Dr. Rawlings has a solid academic foundation complemented by extensive professional experience.

Dr. Rawlings' career is a rich tapestry of roles in corporate training and higher education. She has served as a Director of Admission for for-profit universities, focusing on supporting student success and delving into the complexities of human communication. As a Professor of Communication Studies, she has taught a wide array of courses, including Interpersonal Communication, Communication in Healthcare, Public Speaking, Group Communication, and Organizational Communication. Her research has explored the evolving landscape of interpersonal interactions within social media environments, focusing on the role of emojis in providing social support.

Family Is the Foundation

Residing at the Front Range Mountains base in Colorado, Dr. Rawlings enjoys a picturesque family life with her husband and two lively children, aged 8 and 5. Amid the busyness of family life, she has maintained her love for portrait photography, turning it into a cherished hobby.
